A few days after helping him sell his Del Sol (and possibly not helping him by stalling it to the point where it wouldn’t turn back on while trying to learn stick on it, all minutes before the buyers arrived to look at and buy the car) he told me he wanted to install his new speakers and radio in his recently acquired Prelude– not to be confused with his other recent acquisition: the [other] Del Sol.
So he came over early (12…ish) and we got to ripping out the old radio… In addition to having to figure out what wires to match from the old radio’s harness to the new radios wiring, I had to install all new female leads on the speakers…. I think it helped a lot when it began to pour outside when I was working on the rear [REER, not to be confused with RARE– right juan, you stupid momo] speakers from the trunk. 2 and a half hours and a lot of little cuts later the entire system was wired up, installed and mounted…Time to celebrate?! You’d think so wouldn’t you….
The god damn car wouldn’t freakin turn on! Before you think this was some weird effect from my immaculate radio/speaker installation, his car has a bad fuel pump. After 2:30 hours of work on the piece of shit we (which means me for the greater part) had to push the car 1 1/2 blocks, mostly up-hill into a parking spot. The best part in my opinion was when Juan was in the car trying to steer in neutral with me behind it, in my slippers, in loose shorts that kept falling down, pushing the car at what was probably 3mph or less and having two girls walk by looking at us like we were insane. Always nice to lend a friend a helping hand.
