$40 (amp. kit from misc.-car-store on Northern Blvd.) and 4 hours later the power wire is routed through some hole I found in the car which had wiring running through it into the door for the power panel…Budhiono and I managed to get it through there and up to under the hood. This looks like a good route but isn’t as good as a custom-made route AKA a drilled hole so I’ll consult a few audio specialists and see what they say: If its good it stays otherwise how much can they charge to drill a hole and pull the wire through…nevermind, don’t tell me.
Connecting the O-Ring (end connector for my power cable) to my battery was a bitch thanks to some weird ass oversized rubber sleeve which was on the car connector [which I eventually slightly “adjusted” by cutting out a small portion that was hitting my connector and preventing the connection]. Also, after some scrubbing and then some more scrubbing with a brillo pad we found a good ground connection. Unfortunately I couldn’t find a drill bit small enough to make a hole for the “ground screw” I got with the kit to attach the ground wire so I’ve got the ground cable clamped onto the ground for now until I get that drill bit later today. Another night, another rant about the Malibu. It’s late…early…it’s time to go to sleep. Night.
