Austen's Report Card for 4s preschool

... was filled with positives, including a sweet note from her teacher. The things she hadn't quite mastered included following ... 3 part directions, forming letters from top to bottom, sight words and counting and sorting without skipping.

About Grandma Judi: From Facebook

Jennifer Famous

Jennifer Famous Emma suddenly ran upstairs saying she wanted to get something for her share day. Brought down a picture of Grandma Judi. Trying not to cry....

She chickened out and took a book instead but I guess it's the thought that counts.

I'm with you there,(trying not to cry) think of her all the time and wondering what fun stuff we would be doing. Loved her and miss her a lot.

We talk about Grandma Judi a lot. Austen's teacher thinks she's obsessed with death because she talks about how people die. She even has her own reincarnation theory that has to do with flowers dying and then coming back next spring as buds. Gage is Grandma Judi's flower bud. :)

That is so sweet. I think it is typical for kids her age to think about things like death.

I can't walk into BAES, or Emory, or SSO w/out thinking of Judi. And I'm still a bit ticked at God. What was He thinking!!!

No More Video Monitor

Since our return from Cape May in August, we've stopped using the video monitor to watch over Austen in her room. Privacy ... finally! Austen has adjusted and now just gets up, walks out of her room, usually talking loudly but not crying, and makes her way to Mommy and Daddy's room. Previously -- the first 3 1/2 years of her life -- Austen had to call for Mommy and Daddy to come get her when she was done with sleeping.

The bathroom light in the hall is always on at night. Austen doesn't like to get up and walk around in the dark.
